Hello

Airbnb With Family

There it is—the simplest, truest version. That first meal at your Airbnb with family on vacation.

It doesn’t need to be by a river or overlooking anything in particular. It just needs to be yours for the moment, and everyone together, and that feeling of: we meet again.

There’s something about Airbnbs, they’re not quite home, not quite hotel. You have to figure them out a little. Where are the plates? How does the stove work? Is there olive oil? Someone’s reading the welcome book, someone’s testing the wifi, someone’s already claimed the couch. And then you gather for that first meal.

Maybe it’s takeout from a place you found on the drive in. Maybe someone made a grocery run and you’re cobbling together a simple dinner. Maybe it’s breakfast the next morning after everyone slept in unfamiliar beds—coffee in mugs that aren’t yours, toast at a table where you’re all a little closer than usual because the space is different.

But you’re breaking bread together. Making the place feel like it’s yours. Starting the vacation not with activities or sightseeing, but with the fundamental thing: eating together, being together, letting everything else wait.

That first Airbnb meal is where vacation actually becomes real.

When are you heading out?
